A founding partner of HARMONY, Jérôme Bogaert has over 20 years experience as a tax lawyer, working particularly on international tax matters and mainly in English. Jérôme has a strong expertise in the following fields:

• Supporting businesses of all sizes – from international groups to small and mid-cap companies – to define and implement their taxation policies (monitoring the ETR, guiding tax-related cash flows, overseeing tax audits, managing tax risks, etc.

• Supporting companies in their organic and external growth operations in France and internationally (international contracts, acquisitions, disposals, restructurings, etc.)

• Advising on company formation and takeovers

• Assisting in negotiations with tax authorities during and/or after tax audits, or when applying for rulings.

Professional experience

• One year secondment as Group Tax Director at VEOLIA ENVIRONNEMENT (6 months in 2003) and Tax Director France at ALSTOM (6 months in 1999/2000)

• Since March 2003: Independent legal counsel, and then founding partner of HARMONY

• September 2005 – February 2013: Partner, Head of Tax at French law firm GT Société d’Avocats

• 2000 – 2005: Tax lawyer in the Corporate National and International Tax department at ERNST & YOUNG Société d’Avocats.

• 1994 – 2000: Tax lawyer in the Corporate Tax department at TAJ, a member of the DELOITTE network

• Member of DFCG (Association of Financial and Management Control Directors) since 2008

• DFCG representative at the International Taxation Committee of IAFEI (International Association of Financial Executive Institutes)

• International Tax trainer at DFCG and in-house for multinationals
